General Guide to Commissions

In addition to the paintings listed for sale, I am happy to take on commissions to meet your individual requirements.

Whether this is for a gift, keepsake or to turn a favourite photograph into a painting.

Please bear in mind that this process can take a while to complete, so if it is for an important occassion please leave plenty of time!.

Commission Guidelines

Please leave sufficient time for the painting to be produced.

  • Acrylic paintings can be produced in a shorter time than oils.

  • It can take 3 months for an oil painting to dry before it can be varnished!

  • I may have several projects 'on the go', so may not be able to start immediately.

Please provide a clear image for me to work from.

  • I rely totally on the image provided to produce a painting that you will be happy with.

  • Several photos of the subject help me to get a better likeness.

  • I need clear photographs of a reasonable size (or that can be enlarged to a reasonable size) with good colour saturation.

  • I can work from black and white images and turn them into paintings using sepia tones (see Lily) or colour (see Omar).

Please liaise with me to discuss your exact requirements.

  • Use the contact page to send me an initial enquiry.

  • I will then contact you to discuss.

  • There is no obligation or commitment until we are both happy with the time frame, subject material, medium to be used and the price.

  • Once this is agreed, I will commence your work, asking for only a £10.00 non refundable deposit to demonstrate your good faith.

  • I will not take on a commission if I do not think I will be able to do it justice. but can put you in touch with others who may be able to help.
